Launched in 2009, NHS Evidence pools clinical data from a wide variety of sources

NICE has launched a mobile version of its online clinical evidence portal NHS Evidence.

The beta version of the service includes a search with top-level results, snippets of document information, document file identifiers and a link to the full version of NHS Evidence.

NHS Evidence was set up in 2009 as a healthcare professional equivalent of the public-facing NHS Choices online service.

It pools clinical data from a wide variety of sources, including the Cochrane Collaboration and UK pharma body the ABPI, and and offers a personalised search function to registered users and accredication to organisations that meet its quality standards.

NHS organisations can also download an NHS Evidence search bar to sit on their intranet or website that provides staff with quick and direct access to the wealth of information available.

There are instructions on how to add the new NHS Evidence mobile version to an iPhone or iPod Touch as a ‘home icon’ here.
