Doctors.net.uk’s Nordic expansion
21/05/10 permalink UK online doctors network Doctors.net.uk has taken a stake in its Swedish counterpart MedUniverseas part of international expansion plans.
The move, reportedly the first of several European deals Doctors.net.uk hopes to seal this year, will also see the Oxford-based network’s medical director Dr Tim Ringrose take a seat on MedUniverse’s board. (Read More.)
Boehringer readies 'diabetes hub'
20/05/10 permalink Boehringer Ingelheim will shortly unveil a ‘digital diabetes hub’ that combines educational videos, research tools, educational games and information on type II diabetes.

No breakthrough, but UK's digital issues out in the open

Novartis rebuked for "false and misleading" websites
07/05/10 permalink The FDA has issued Novartis with a stern warning over two websites it sponsors, saying it considersgistalliance.com and cmlalliance.com “false and misleading”.
The regulator also wants answers from the company over its involvement with, and control of, bloodleveltesting.com which it said may violate US laws. (Read More.)
Online medical information influences treatment
05/05/10 permalink More than half of health searches in the UK result in treatment or management changes, according to new research by Datapharm.
A survey of 630 people, either taking medicines or caring for those who are, found almost a quarter changed treatment and over a third changed the management of their condition after going online. (Read More.)
