22/10/09 permalink Bayer Schering Pharma has expanded its InBed erectile dysfunction awareness campaign, adding to YouTube 60 short videos that take a factual rather than humorous approach to the problem.
The InBed campaign, which I previewed last month, has as its centre-piece a series of eight animated films, which offer a wry look at "one man's journey from droop to Don Juan". (Read more)
Raising awareness of clinical trials
20/10/09 permalink Contract research organisation Quintiles has launched a website for people considering participating in clinical trials.
The company hopes Clinicalresearch.com will raise awareness of clinical trials and how they work, and ultimately persuade more people to participate in the process by making it easier to find a nearby trial for their condition. (Read more)

12/10/09 permalink GlaxoSmithKline has launched a product information website for patients in the UK, becoming the second major pharma company to push the boundaries of what information the industry can make available to UK patients.
Quietly launched last month GSK's site is devoted to providing the public with "high-quality, up-to-date information about GSK medicines". (Read more)
Boehringer's bedtime stories
05/10/09 permalink Boehringer Ingelheim has published an online book for European patients suffering from restless legs syndrome.
The educational resource, which is available at rlsbookofbedtimestories.com, was launched from the company's European head office and contains short case studies of patients Sue (UK), John (UK), Silvana (Italy) and Hans (Germany). (Read more)

A tweeting of minds
27/08/09 permalink I recently attended an event on European healthcare social media. There was no entrance fee, delegate badge or travel to the venue, just the requirement to be online for an hour at a certain time and listen or chat as the mood took you.
Yes, this was a conference conducted entirely through Twitter, or in web parlance, a Tweet Up. (Read more)
