First stage complete: Wickham Laboratories acquisition of new facilities has seen a successful development.

Refurbishment work on the 2nd floor is expected to be complete by the end of October. Clean down and environmental monitoring validation will then follow. Purchase of additional incubators is underway which will minimise disruption to customer testing when the time comes to move work across from Wickham to Gosport. All new equipment will be qualified on site at Hoeford Point. Our QA unit is busy co-ordinating change controls protocols and liaising with relevant regulatory bodies.

The 2nd floor facility at Hoeford represents nearly a 50% increase in floor space compared with current microbiology facilities at Wickham, allowing plenty of scope for future expansion.  More importantly it allows us to accommodate Sample Reception and departmental managers at the heart of the testing areas for better efficiency.  Work is also underway to install a purpose built Media Preparation facility which will be located on the ground floor. Progress shall continue as the next stage of plans for Sterility and Cytotoxicity departments are commenced.
