Wiley-Blackwell appoints Dr Charles Young

Published on: 08/03/10

Dr Charles Young has joined Wiley-Blackwell as publishing director of global clinical solutions.

He moves to the company from the BMJ Group, where he was editor-in-chief of the clinical decision support products Best Practice and BMJ Point of Care, which he led since their launch.

He also edited the BMJ’s evidence-based medicine publication Clinical Evidence and previously worked as executive editor at The Lancet.

He is an emergency physician at St Thomas' Hospital, London, where he will continue to practise, and teaches around the world on healthcare information topics.

Wiley-Blackwell is one of the largest health sciences publishers and Dr Young’s appointment will capitalise on its very strong presence in evidence-based medicine.

This encompasses its relationship with the Cochrane Collaboration, and the development of Essential Evidence Plus, the Health Economics and Evaluation Database and Evidence-Based Medicine Guidelines, which Dr Young will lead the development of as clinical decision support.
